Student Loans and Grants For Hispanics

Written by Admin on November 25th, 2008

If you have been accepted into the college of your choice you are probably now looking for ways to pay for your student tuition.

Let me just tell you that if you do not have the cash to pay upfront you have two options for the rest of your college life, students loans and grants. You are reading this because you want to stay away from student loans. Let me tell you that you are correct because student loans mean that you will be digging yourself into a financial mess. Do not finish school with thousands of dollars in debt to Sallie Mae or whatever bank issues you loans. Go to school for free using Hispanic grants and scholarships.

The biggest difference between a student loan and a student grant is that a grant does not have to be paid back. A restatement of this is that if you receive a grant you do not have to pay anything back it is just applied to your account at school and your balance goes down.

When you apply for a student loan the amount is applied to your account as well and your balance goes down. You only problem is that the amount you have to pay remains the same and actually goes higher because of interest payments you will have to make on the loan.

You will have a six month grace period from the time you take your last class but that is not enough time to save up thousands of dollars so stay away from student loans if at all possible. Apply for student grants and not student loans.
