Single Parent Grants

Do you know of a single parent? Not just any parent but one who is in need of some financial relief. When the topic of single parenting comes up people usually think about a single mom with several children and no job and rarely about single dads. This happens and it’s a sad situation because there is no present form of income since the mom or dad has to stay home with the kids.
What are grants?

Grants are free money that is typically distributed by the government. Grants unlike personal loans, do not have to be paid back to an entity. So when looking for some kind of aid, it is best to look for some form of grant. It is not easy to receive this form of aid. Some think it’s just a matter of sending an email to an organization but the opposite is true. This does not mean that one should not try to look for some form of financial assistance but be smart about your research. There needs to be planning on the part of the applicant so they know exactly what they are asking for. It helps to look everywhere first and to try to do what you can.

People want to see persistence and a person that is willing to give all they can to get aid. The internet is one of the best ways to get information fast. You can do some quick searches and read about what it takes to get aid and even apply for grants online. You may want to keep a running list of sites that are helpful or a list of steps that you need to take. Remember to not lose focus and to make sure that you apply for grants that you know you qualify for. Being a single mom alone does not qualify you for a grant. You must be in need, based on what the grant requires of the applicant. So check the requirements before applying for anything so that you don’t waste your time.

Grants for single mothers have helped families over the years to get back on their feet. Most people want some form of grant to be sent directly to them. I must say that this is a rare form of help from the government. In fact, a big chunk of money goes to organizations that may be in your neighborhood that help single parent families who are in need.

Have a Daughter, a single Mom with 2 children. Is an RN and works 4 days a week. 1 Father does not pay any child support. The other child is Hispanic, age 3, and the Father provides little support and only cares for child 2 days a week. Ex’s hide their income and Mother works hard to provide. Needs assistance with housing. Are there any grants available for this type of situation.
