Hispanic Scholarships for College

When attending college, you may find that the financial expense is way more than you can handle. Find Free College Money! You should know that there are many scholarships available for students that are currently enrolled in school and want to continue their education. If you are Hispanic, there are Hispanic scholarships for college specifically set up for you. Many companies and organizations have Hispanic scholarships available, they help increase and maintain diversity in student bodies of colleges and universities.


College tuition continuously seems to rise at a rapid rate. Unlike most things that only rise a very small percentage each year, college tuition can raise in the double figure percentages from year to year. So no matter how many years you have attended, you will probably need additional help with financing.

If you have finished your freshman year, there are many scholarships available. In fact, many companies and organizations prefer to give their scholarships to students that have proven that they can handle the demands of college life. Finding them is quite easy, just go online and type in Hispanic scholarships. Here is a list of the more coveted Hispanic scholarships out there:

If you are currently pursuing a PhD or Master’s degree in computer science, or computer engineering, Google is offering Hispanic scholarships. You must be Hispanic or have a Hispanic background. You must be a permanent resident of a United States either by documentation or birth. Full time course load is required. You must carry a 3.5 to a 4.0 grade point average. You must be able to show your financial need. Financial aid must be applied for and you must be able to show proof of it. Each individual selected will receive a scholarship in the amount of $5,000 and an all expense paid trip to the headquarters of Google in California.

Costco also offers a Hispanic scholarship for students that are getting a degree in Pharmacy. You must have finished one year of pharmacy school or beginning your sophomore year as a pharmacy major. Individual scholarship are for $9,500, but you must agree to work at Costco for one year and they will also include $500 towards your exam fees and for your licensing. They have the same resident and financial need requirements as Google. Your grade point average must be a 3.0 and higher.

When trying to further your education in the media related careers, you can apply for the McNamara Family Foundation scholarship. You must be currently enrolled as a full time student in the creative arts field. The scholarships will range from $5,000 to $20,000 per individual student. You must have a grade point average of 3.0 to 4.0. You must have successfully completed 12 undergraduate credits from an accredited American university. The other requirements are similar to Google’s requirements.

Each of the Hispanic scholarships has the same basic requirements when applying. You must be of Hispanic heritage. You need to have at a minimum a 3.0 grade point average. Application for financial aid must be made and you need to be able to demonstrate your need for financial help. Each company or organization has very specific deadlines and requirements that you must meet when you apply, so make sure that you read these requirements carefully.
