Hello My name is Melissa Lopez I am a single hispanic mother of two. I am currently an active duty military member. when I first joined the Navy not only did I sacrafice my life and time but also my marriage my husband left while I was still in boot camp leaving me and my kids to figure out what we were gonna do. I managed to put my self through school before getting in and get my AS in Information Technology although the debt I accumulated never seems to go down. me and my children would love the oportunity to get this grant to get back on our feet and focus on the more on my job.

I am a single Hispanic mother of twin 4 year old girls. After losing my job a year ago life has changed tremendously. I live with my mother and brother to help one another out. After being able to support my children the best way I knew how I have come across many difficulties. I found that without a college education it has not been easy landing a job where I can be the head of household for my children and myself. I want to set the best example I possibly can for my girls. I am willing to move closer to the college where I can become an LVN or RN. Even though I may move away from family but I feel more of a burden at home then any help to my mother, who is retired and should be able to enjoy her retirement years and not have to worry about helping me but me helping her instead. A grant would really help with child care and any fees to help pay for college. Life can be hard at times but dreams can be accomplished when someone can offer a helping hand to those in need. Thank you for the opportunity.

I’m a single Hispanic mother of three children. Eight months ago my ex-husband left us without a way to support ourselves sufficiently. We were evicted and have had to live with family and friends.
I am enrolled in a college and work full time but there is still not enough money for me to support all four of us. The father has not given me any financial support but I really don’t want to rely on him.
I want to be self sufficient, that is why I am going to college to get my BSN. I just need some assistance until I can support myself and my children.

I am a single Hispanic mother of two. I have a daughter that is two and a son who is almost six months old. As soon as I finished school I went straight to college. I live with my parents and I am not making a lot of money. My sister watches my kids while i go to school. My days are going to change to Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. That is full time for ITT. I am going to college for my Criminal Justice degree in Boise, ID at ITT Tech. I’ve been looking for work so I could get a place of my own but every application I filled out I have not heard from them. I would like to take my kids to a day care so I don’t have to worry about them, while I am attending school. With this grant it could help me be able to go for four years and maybe even more. I would love to give my kids a better life then I had and I would love to stop asking my parents for help with my kids. So with your help it would mean so much to me. Thank you, for letting me take up a little of your time.

i am a single mother of a two year old boy and a three year old daughter. I am curently going to collage in Tucson AZ but i live with my mother in Douglas AZ two hrs away. my mom takes care of my kids during school mon-thur. i only see my kids on the weekends when i go back home,i ride the shuddle every time i go and every time i come back it is a 25dl fee every time i go and come back. i have no place of my own in tucson i stay with my couzin while im up here! my little girls father helps me a little but its not enough. and my little boys dad not at all. sometimes i miss school because i have no way of coming back to Tucson. and with your help i can go ahead and get a place of my own and bring my kids with me and continue school without anymore absence also to get a job. I would realy appreciate your help i hope to hear from you and thank you very much for helping a lot of single mothers out there…

I am a single Hispanic Mother that has a 7month year old daughter,I know ya’ll give out grants to Hispanic mothers that need it most but i really do need it.I live with my mother and right now i currently am not working and my mom is supporting me and my daughter and i wanted to go to college to do something with not only my life but my daughters life!Her father is supposed to be paying child support but doesn’t and he doesn’t even see his daughter at all and i’m here living under my mom’s roof not doing anything for mine and my daughters life and i really don’t want do this anymore,i want to get the best education i can for my daughter,because who knows how long we have left on this earth and i want to at least show my mother and my daughter that i tried to be the best mother i can be!All this mother stuff is very new to me because she was so unexpected but things happen for a reason and if ya’ll would be so kind to give me a grant i promise i won’t let you down.Please contact me at my email and i hope to hear from ya’ll soon.
