Grants for Latino families exist for a wide number of purposes, including to help members improve their prospects by gaining a college certification. Latino families face unique challenges when it comes to getting the education they deserve, and many simply don’t realize just how much help is out there.

First In My Family Scholarship

The most well known of the grants for Latino families, the First In My Family Scholarship, was developed in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, and is designed to help Hispanic-American students who are the first from their family to attend college and need help paying tuition fees. The scholarships range from $500 to $5,000. You can make your family proud and get the financial help you need at the same time!

Scholarships for Hispanic Women

There are also a number of scholarships aimed at helping Latina women to improve their educational prospects. Latina women face unique challenges when it comes to gaining the education they want. These scholarships are aimed at helping women who may want to challenge their traditional roles, or need to improve their qualifications to help raise a family. Scholarships include the Latin American Women’s Professional Foundation, worth $500, and other locally run options.

If your family has a very low income, then you may be eligible for general means-tested grants and scholarships, as well as those offered specifically to the Hispanic community. However, students are still eligible for scholarships on all levels of income – just check the variety of scholarships available to find some that suit you.

As well as grants available to help Latino students pay for college, there are also a number of grants for Latino families aimed at improving prospects and education of children from a very young age. If you’re a new parent then it’s well worth looking into state-based Latino community funds that can help with a variety of issues ranging from education, to pregnancy and literacy.

    I was born in Argentina,and came to the US at the age of 5. I recieved my teaching credential. In CA. I moved to ID, but I have not been able to get work except in a private school. The districts here are bankrupt. There are no jobs. I would like to go back to school and earn a degree in Speech theropy. What can I do. I only make $25,000. I have 4 children and the father is no where to be found.

    Iam a 30yr old hispanic male with a family I need help I got accepted into a foriegn med school but need help paying for tuiton and cost of living please help so I can make my dream come to life and help others I will never turn down anybody when iam a doctor

  4. I’m a naturlized US Citizen. I was born in Mexico and my parents brought to the US for a better life. I’m 21 years old told and about to get my associate’s degree. I want to go for my bachelors. My dad died a little over a year ago and we don’t have the funds for me to move pay for a bachelors degree and cost of living in another city. HELP!

My sons is still taking out loans but I can’t get a parent plus and earned 40,000 when I did work so financial aid is small. PLEASE help and tell me were I can go so my son doesn’t have to drop out
