Our two children are in Scouting, one in Cub Scouts and the other in Girl Scouts. Being among a small number of Hispanic Scout leaders, we have been reaching out to the Hispanic communities and introducing them to Scouting and outdoor recreation. But, we have recently lost the use of the City property where we have held day camps and Cub Scout fun days. This has come about due to city budget cuts. We have used this property with minimal cost for over 15 years and now have nowhere to accommodate the Scouts and our small budget. I had idea (dream) that I could get some sort of grant to buy some property and use it to promote and inspire responsible outdoor recreation throughout our communities. I don’t know what type of grant I would need. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or share your ideas on how to achieve my goal? Thank you for any information you may share with me.
