Also, just because you are taking such a courseload does not mean that you will be guaranteeing yourself a scholarship. application readers look for quality not quantity. Make sure to be committed to 1 or 2 clubs or activities that way you can write a good personal statement.

Are there any scholarship opportunities for a high school senior? I am ranked 4th in my graduating class of 380 students,while taking advanced placement and dual enrollment classes as well as taking on a full load during my senior year, taking courses such as AP environmental science, AP calculus, AP stats, etc. I have managed to maintained a high standard of academic success. However, because my mom has a college degree (teaching field) and my dad has a decent job for this region of the country and together make slightly over $100,000 I am having a hard time getting any scholarships. Most seem to be geared for the “econonmically disadvantaged” which I think is great, but what about the middle class student? Please write back with any suggestions for me. I have filled out countless scholarships and have had no success thus far. Thank you for your time. Kalinah Sanchez
